The Leader in Me & 7 Habits

This year, we are in the process of becoming a Lighthouse school. We will be promoting leadership skills within our classrooms and within the school, using the seven habits as a base. The faculty and staff will be working on these habits as well!

Habit 1 - Be proactive
Habit 2 - Begin with the end in mind
Habit 3 - Put first things first
Habit 4 - Think win-win
Habit 5 - Seek first to understand, then to be understood
Habit 6 - Synergize
Habit 7 - Sharpen the Saw

To build on what we started last year, each student will have a leadership notebook to track successes and goals in and outside the school. Students will focus on writing W.I.G.S. - wildly important goals. We will talk about developing attainable, realistic goals for academic and non-academic areas. Each child will keep track of progress toward these goals in his or her leadership notebook.
